State Highschool CC Championships

At the start of the girls race the teams were spread out wide avoiding the wet course's puddles. Windy, 52°F, and very wet. Our girls took 4th place, our boys took 6th. A very good year for Noblesville CC.

I-80 Is Closed Today

I took this photo last June along I-80 between Rawlings, Wyoming and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Today I heard on the radio this area is being hit with an early winter storm and I-80 is closed. Back here in Indiana we had a beautiful day up to 70°F.

I-69

My travels took me to a shop with a parking lot overlooking I-69 near 86th street. This is looking South toward the spot about a mile away where a truck hauling propane lost control and exploded over the weekend. Traffic continues on...

Semi-State CC Meet

Another great day for racing. Actually, windy, cold and cloudy! The leaders in the 5K girls race at about 1/2 way. At the finish the Carmel girl with the blue headband won in a sprint over the Avon girl just showing but obscured behind her. Third was the Carmel girl with the black headband. Fourth was the Franklin Central girl in the pink shorts. Fifth was the Noblesville girl in black. Next week, State Meet.

Regional CC Race

You probably realize by now I like Cross Country. Today was a big day for our Noblesville High School Team. Last Tuesday we ran the Sectional Race and won over our neighboring school Carmel by a slim margin. Today was the Regional Race and we tied with Carmel, well almost. The top five runners places are added up, low score wins. In a tie the higher placed 6th place runner decides it. Today Carmel beat us. Next weekend is Semi-State, then the State Championships the week after. I would like to see Carmel and Noblesville do well all the way to the State Meet. It's rare when the two top ranked schools in the state are directly next to each other geographically. Today was great for running: 38°F, sunny, no wind.

Cloudy Fall Day

Braved the damp, cold, rainy day for a trip downtown. The colors are here, we just need some sunshine. 44°F.

Sectional Race

Cross Country is huge in Central Indiana. Most people consider the upper midwest the mecca of Cross Country. Cool nice day for running in the 50's.

The Soybean fields are dry and being harvested. Fall is here in Indiana. Beautiful sunny day in the 50's°F.

I wore my "Cross Fcuking Rules" shirt to the Cross races, but there weren't any bikes... A great day for College races out in Terre Haute, Indiana. 57°F and sunny!

Poison Ivy

In the fall, Poison Ivy turns golden yellow just as the trees do. Dried and old leaves, full of spots and galls, look like leather. Beautiful and in the low 60's today in Noblesville, Indiana.

Days are beautiful when it's 66°F and sunny! Downtown is busy around the courthouse.

Sunday Parking Lot

Sunday afternoon with an overcast sky. Not too cold, 62°F. This is the parking lot of what used to be the KMart in Noblesville, IN. Times were tough for that store long before the recession, and they closed up. Now, the truckers who live in the area use the lot for a needed space to park their rigs. I like that. We need to make places for our drivers, it'll make their lives better. I know a couple of towns really close to us that are too good for this type of thing.

Commuting Video

I shot some video of a part of my ride to work. It's a bit wild since I just have the camera hanging from my neck. People are nice to me when I cross this 4 way stop, but I have to be pretty careful so I don't get run over. Windy here today! And only 62°F.

National Portfolio Day

It was National Portfolio Day of high school students today. All over the country students took their portfolios for advise from University, College, and Art School staffs. Beautiful today as we made the drive down to Herron School of Art in Indianapolis. 70°F.

Went out shopping in Carmel, Indiana. The city is infacuated with roundabouts. Cloudy, cool, nice day here in central Indiana. 70°F

Dark Mornings

My commute has turned into a pre-dawn ride. Rain has moved in, but it remains warm. 72°F

Sitting in a meeting. Turned out to be a great day after a bit of rain. 81°F in Noblesville, IN.

Start of Girls CC Race

I set my camera to movie for the start of the girls cross country race. At this meet there were two varsity races for both the boys and girls, then a reserve race for the others. Today was cloudy and we had a bit of drizzle. 75°F.

High School Cross Country

Today was a great day for the races. A big invitational in Carmel, Indiana. The boys run 5K, here the leaders go through about half way in. 72°F.

Lucas Oil Stadium

At the Colts game I sat up high on the 50yd. line. You can see the open roof and ends of the stadium. Really cool place. The weather holds here, beautiful and in the 70's.

After a Saturday night Buckeye game, I followed it up with a Sunday Colts game. It's been beautiful here in Indy. 82°F, and sunny everyday.
